car-toon in? no, bike-toon!

this is nicole kenney. i found her while procrastinating at work, and later i realized i've seen her stuff in hardcomics #7. she draws and lives how and what i'd only love to ...
these days, i find it quite easy to fall inove with comic artists, male or female merely through their artwork. cartoons could be much more honest and sweeter than people, depending on their creators.
wait, does that imply that a cartoonist can be better than god!?!?!

when i grow up, i wanna be a lovable cartoon, not necessarily perfect, nor fuzzy...just good.
this is me now, by A

nation of damnable?

maybe at this time, after reading controversial news, i should be writing about high level corruption in Romania; but i'm too sick to my stomach and i wanna cling to the EU membership idea like my cat often does on my new sweater.

nonono! this post will go to *art*.
i adore james joyce , after having spent one incredible night with his *portrait*.......and i stumbled onto this guy ........james joyce the (i presume english) graphic designer. here u have some of his nice work.

look at how the heads of these people are all tied together by financial manoeuvrings and embarrassing secrets behind dark shades. if it isn't sex, then it's money, if none of the above, then, all together with a pinch of politics.

everything in its right place

my first piece of urban art. look to the upper right. i recieved this banner immitating a medieval emblem from a dear friend while visiting Brasov. it was hanged from the White Tower, but we felt it was too kitsch for that cool of a place, so we took it down. i didn't put it in my room like i first said, but found that i should transplant it to my city, in a familiar context. there it hangs now, replacing a paste-up quite dear to me made by hilly but which violently disappeared one night:

mine does not stand the comparison to the other one, but i love it nontheless. it writes "BUC *heart* BV/ BV *heart* BUC"

masses are asses

while bringing my hands together for an admirative clap when learning about his greenpeace project, i stopped to find out more about artist Spencer Tunick. why did i find him whorthwhile?
because he got a group of 600 get naked people on Aletsch Glacier in the Swiss Alps and thus documented an instance of global warming-the temperature there being 10 to 15 bellow 0 Celsius. it made me sad....it should make everyone wheep.

even if this seems quite special , this is what the guy does, photograph nakedness in large masses but also individuals. seeing naked people in such large numbers made me think of concentration camps, but also of Gandhi going through them, feeling nothing sexual. the people who volnteer for Tunick's artworks (7.000 for his all time record in 2003 in Barcelona) sustain that it is only an eliberating experience, and goes beyond sexual instincts. it must be so, it they get naked on command and perform all the reqested tricks......... nevertheless, i wonder if this is about the power of this idea, or the conscience of the fact that one is partaking the birth of an artwork.

the first picture shows him in a dictatorial pose, the camera being an object of subjecting so many naked bodies.

for those willing to get into details , here is a blog dedicated to the artist, but its latest entry is nov. 2005: http://www.spencertunick.blogspot.com/

i asked my 25 year old single brother whether he would take part in a tunick installation. *YES! sure, just to prove myself i can be free, and uninhibited, you know, let yourself go........and if there are also nice girls, no problem....*

it has been known people to fall inlove with the occasion of such an installation, THUS do not des-PAIR .
